What Comes With Your Automatic Roller Shutter Door
Automatic roll-up doors are one of the most popular garage doors. Here’s what comes with your roller garage automatic shutter, as well as some tips on how to choose the right extras for your garage door.

What Extras Can I Choose?
Here at Smart Roller Doors, we give you many different options to choose from so you can completely customise your roller garage doors.
Here are some of the optional extras you can choose from and why you might need them;
Safety Edge Kit: This is a handy extra if safety is a major concern, all of our safety edge kits detects an obstruction under the door as it closes, if the rubber strip at the bottom comes into contact with anything under the door it will automatically stop the door from closing.
External Override: This is a must have for garages without another entry door other than the main garage door. Be careful, some companies may not include this to keep the price low, but it is a legal requirement and your garage door won’t be protected or be under warranty if it doesn’t have this.
Upgraded Slat Size: For garages up to 2.4m or 7ft 8in the standard slat size is 55mm which is 8.2mm thick, however if you plan to use your garage for anything other than storage, for example, gym or a home office you may require better insulation and therefore, we would recommend upgrading to the 77mm slats which are 18mm thick.
The upgrade more than doubles the insulation of the garage door, keeping the warmth in during winter and keeping the heat out during the summer.
Smart Door Controls: We are the only company in the UK to offer Smart Garage Door Controls on all of our garage doors.
What does this do? It allows you to control the garage door anywhere in the world via your mobile phone.
Not going to be in while waiting for a delivery? No problem, simply open the garage door while you are away ask the delibery driver to pop the parcel in and close the garage door once he is gone.
You can alos control who has access to your garage door via the app, simple give friends or family access, revoke access when you no longer wish for them to have access.

FAQ
Are your doors insulated?
Yes, both our 55mm and 77mm garage doors offer good insulation thanks to their double skinned aluminium and foam filled insert. Our compact 55mm range have a foam filled insert of 6-8mm thick and for our larger 77mm range, the insert is 16-18mm thick.
Are your doors electric?
Yes, all of our Automatic Garage Doors are electric and can be operated via a remote control.
How many handsets does the door come with?
All of our doors come with two handsets as standard, although extra handsets can be purchased, with up to 25 total handsets being compatible with one door.
Are your doors weatherproof?
Unfortunately, there is no such thing as a weatherproof door as the components need to be able to open and close. However, they will offer far better protection against the elements than an up and over garage door. We have also included a double brush feature in the guide runners, a fully enclosed top box and a rubber seal in the last slat of the curtain.
What happens if there is a power cut?
In the event of a power cut, you can operate the door via a manual override handle that is supplied with all our roller garage doors. This facility is only applicable for emergency circumstances. If you also do not have alternative access to the garage we will install an external override.
How secure are the garage doors?
Our Smart Roller Doors are more secure than many other garage door designs and styles currently on the market.
The doors feature a minimum of four locking straps that incorporate heavy duty direct connect linkages for maximum resistance to forced opening this means there are fewer opportunities for unwelcome visitors to attempt a forced entry.
